Earthing FAQ’s

The concept is simple: prolonged contact with your bare feet, hands, or any part of your skin to earth to absorb its electromagnetic energy. Earthing (also referred to as grounding) can also be accomplished with earthing technology, which involves using specific items like earthing mats, bed sheets, electrode pads etc. that are plugged into the ground hole of an outlet.
To put it simply, earthing balances the body’s electrical current which leads to improved: muscle recovery, sleep/insomnia, energy levels, mood, immune function & wound healing, and reduced: red blood cell clumping, inflammation & chronic pain.
The earth generates electromagnetic energy in the form of free electrons, which carry a negative charge. These negatively charged electrons act as antioxidants flowing through our skin cells and lungs which neutralize the positively charged free radicals (produced by inflammation) that damage our cells.
The electron transfer happens instantaneously to ground the voltage of the body, however 15 minutes minimum of continuous contact is recommended to notice benefits such as relaxation and relief from pain. Walked is preferred compared to running due to this continuous contact requirement. Many people purchase grounding equipment for their beds and home to stay connected as long as possible.
Because synthetic rubber soles do not conduct the earth’s electromagnetic field. The synthetic rubber sole was invented in the 1960s, namely the worst invention for our health of all time. The only conductive shoes are leather-soled shoes or grounding shoes.
According to personal testimony, a mother whose infant had colic only experienced relief when the mother held her while grounding her feet to the earth. How could the child create any distinction? You have likely experienced earthing benefits before. Have you ever wondered why humans gravitate so easily to the beach? Is it a coincidence that the ocean and ocean air provides one of the highest levels of grounding possible of earth, because it contains one of the highest concentrations of negative ions?

Ok, that’s too much clicking! Could you just give me one example instead? “A review of earthing research conducted by the Developmental and Cell Biology Department at the University of California at Irvine found that reconnecting the body to the Earth’s surface electrons actually may result in significant improvements in sleep disturbances and chronic pain. One of the studies reviewed involved randomly assigning subjects with sleep or pain disorders to sleep on conductive carbon fiber mattress pads, half of which were connected to the Earth’s surface, and half of which were not. The subjects who were connected to the Earth’s electrons reported a significant improvement in quality of sleep, feeling rested upon waking, muscle stiffness and pain, and general well-being when compared to the control subjects. The review concluded that more research does need to be conducted, but that earthing very well may be an essential element in the quest to increase human longevity.” ** **OSU Reference
The following company engineered grounding shoes, durable for most weather conditions. Harmony 783 You can also wear 100% leather-soled moccasins which will absorb moisture, found here: Amazon: Leather-soled moccasins
In and of itself, earthing is safe. Outdoors, however, be aware of other common sense variables such as: hazardous objects on the ground, animal feces, parasites such as roundworm/ringworm, insects on the ground or in the air, stickers, wild animals, or other environmental threats in your surroundings. It may be wise to use sunglasses, insect repellent, and sunscreen depending on the conditions and duration. Be sure to maintain basal body temperature and adequate hydration levels during excessive heat or cold weather conditions. For indoor earthing, be sure to test the ground outlet voltage in the space before using the products, but the earthing kits usually come with a tester for your convenience.
The best place is to earth is anywhere near flowing water (ocean, lakes, waterfalls, rivers, streams, forests etc.) The next best place is deep in nature or at a park. Elements such as rain, wind, sunlight increase the grounding effect of the negative ions on the surface of the earth and in the air. For example, the beach has a grounding effect of 2000 negative ions per cubic centimeter, but a city may have less than 100 negative ions per cubic centimeter.
You can ground by touching the skin of another person who is grounded!
